About UsThe Platform for Peace and Humanity was established with the belief that a more peaceful world is possible. Founded in Slovakia in 2016, the Platform draws on Czechoslovakia’s historical experiences with totalitarian regimes, occupation and conflict, as well as its peaceful transition into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Being aware of the necessity of standing against violations of international law, including illegal acts of aggression, the Platform’s first initiative was to advocate for a stronger international response to the crime of aggression by the International Criminal Court.Slovakia and the Czech Republic stand out globally for enshrining an unconditional model of universal jurisdiction, allowing for the prosecution of individuals for serious international crimes—such as genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity—regardless of where the crime occurred or the nationality of the perpetrator or victim.
