ABOUT USDesired start date: 01/06/2026 Duration of the mission: 6 months Location: N'DJAMENASOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.ABOUT THE MISSIONFollowing the outbreak of the conflict in April 2023 and forced evacuation of Khartoum and West Darfur (El Geneina), SI was the first international NGO to re-enter Darfur and resume its emergency response.In February 2024, SI opened a base in North Darfur to provide emergency assistance to populations, as very few humanitarian organizations were operational in the state. Similarly, SI opened an office in Zalingei, Central Darfur in November 2024. Today, thanks to the support of SHF, CDCS, ECHO and BHA, activities are being implemented in West Darfur, Central Darfur, North Darfur, Gedaref and Khartoum States across WASH, Shelter and NFI support, Food Security and Livelihood sectors.In West Darfur, the main share of the portfolio remains WASH with the provision of water through water trucking, rehabilitation of water points/water yards, borehole drilling, hygiene promotion, sanitation (emergency latrine construction, semi-permanent latrine, showers, desludging), solid waste management, WASH NFI distribution, and WASH in Health etc. Besides, SI implements food assistance mostly through cash and voucher modalities. West Darfur team also implements agricultural support activities (seeds distribution, provision of tools, training) as well as market strengthening support.In Central Darfur. The activities mostly focus on WASH and CVA. SI also has an Emergency Response Team based in Zalingei, Central Darfur, roving across Central and West Darfur, implementing rapid responses in WASH, Shelter/NFI and Food (CVA).In the Eastern part of the country, SI is present with Wash and FSL activities in Gedaref and Khartoum, under CDCS and BHA funds, and should soon deploy new Wash activities in the state of Jazeera.Most of the programs are being implemented in Consortium, including 2 led by SI, and require strong coordination efforts to provide area-based interventions. SI also has a strong localization approach, with diverse local partners in all states.Coordination in N'Djamena constitutes of 22 expats and 6 national staffs. In the grants department, 2 grants manager , 1 reporting and communication officer & 1 Partnership Manager.ABOUT THE JOBGeneral objective:Developing and monitoring the partnership and financial strategies for the country office. He or she guarantees a high level of interdepartmental coordination in the management of grants and provides strategic support to the country office on issues of donor relations, external representation, implementing partners management, external compliance, and donor accountability.The Coordinator maps donors, monitors donor funding opportunities and donors’ geographical strategies, and makes recommendations to the Country Director on the country office’s portfolio and business development opportunities. He/she may meet with new donors in order to present the local and regional strategy of SI, the country intervention logic, and so on.The main challenges:Remote work from Chad, with bases in Sudan and most donors in Nairobi/Port Sudan/AddisPartnership management (newly set up systems to be further institutionalized)High workloadPriorities for the 2/3 first months:Further diversification of donor portfolio, incl. review of planned engagement as part of 2027 strategy developmentCapacity building of the Grant Manager, RCO and Partnership ManagerFurther refinement and institutionalization of partnership management systemsSecurity constraints:Moderate risks, generally predictable and manageable with standard security measures, no curfew, but Walking limited at certain hours and in certain areas for safety awareness.YOUR PROFILEDIPLOMAS AND EXPERIENCEMaster degree in international relations, programs managementExperience in the humanitarian sector : 3 - 4 yearsExperience on a similar position : 3 - 4 yearsSKILLSTECHNICAL SKILLS1. strong experience with BHA, ECHO, UN, and big consortiums, and different donor guideline.2. French would be an assetSI WILL OFFER YOUA salaried position: According to experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 EUR base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.LIVING CONDITIONS:The conditions in N'Djamena and in Darfur differ. When in N'Djamena, the post-holder will be living in a shared apartment, with electricity and internet almost 24/7. The city of N'Djamena offers a wide range of leisure facilities (gyms, bars, restaurants, cultural institute, riverside walks, etc.) and a large expatriate community. In Darfur, the guesthouses are of good standard with solar panels, fluctuating internet connection, and running water. Social life is limited to contact with other NGO staff (such as MSF, NRC, HI). Curfews apply in Darfur bases (to be expected between 6pm and 8pm).
