First launched as an emergency response operation in 2014, INSO Syria has grown to become a program covering all Syrian governorates, with a Country Office in Damascus.The Syria conflict is unique and complex; you will find that every day is different and there is always more to learn.Job summary:Under the direct supervision of the Country Director, the Reporting Officer is responsible for facilitating the coordination of high-quality and timely inputs for donor reports, assisting with grant management and communications tasks, including the collection of success stories, and acting as a focal point for the consolidation of indicators and means of verification at the country level. This position will work closely with colleagues at headquarters, including the Grants, MEAL and Communications focal points. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and writing skills in English and Arabic, the ability to prioritize competing tasks, initiative and attention to detail.The Reporting Officer position is an interesting, multidisciplinary role, that offers a unique opportunity to work in a close-knit team supporting safety and access within the NGO community.Main Responsibilities* Track external reporting dates according to the contractual obligations of INSO, and ensure timely communication of internal and external reporting deadlines with the field programme staff * Support the Country Director in the consolidation and editing of the donor reports, proposals, and modification requests * Regularly collect, write and consolidate success stories through interaction with the field programme staff for both internal and external audiences, working closely with the HQ Communications Manager for collecting external communication material * Act as brand ambassador for the country office, guiding colleagues on donor and INSO visibility as well as brand application * Facilitate content collection activities such as photoshoots and interviews, including administrative assistance and in-country coordination * Maintain an output tracker and store means of verification, and supporting field programme team with archiving and data cleaning * Work with the country management team for grant opening, review, and close-out meetings, archiving the minutes of meetings and circulating action points * Support the country director for archiving contract-related documents and internal materialsKnowledge, Skills, and Experience* 2+ years of working experience in grants with an NGO * Excellent writing, reading, and speaking skills in both English and Arabic. * Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a relevant social sciences degree. * Systematic, proactive, innovative, self-motivated and detail-orientedNice to Have:* Familiarity with the US and European donors, including ECHO, SDC, SIDA, FCDO etc. * Previous experience in MEAL and communication departments * Understanding of the work and nature of NGOsKey Competencies* Proactivity – Demonstrates initiative by anticipating needs, taking action without being prompted, and actively contributing ideas and solutions. * Communication – Clearly and confidently conveys information, listens actively, and engages effectively with others in both verbal and written interactions. * Prioritisation – Effectively organises tasks and responsibilities, focusing on the most important activities to meet deadlines and objectives. * Collaboration– Works cooperatively with colleagues, contributes to team goals, and supports a positive and productive team environment. * Time Management – Plans and manages time efficiently to complete tasks within deadlines while maintaining quality of work.INSO’s Safeguarding PolicyINSO is fully committed to safe recruitment, selection and vetting of all potential new staff, trustees and volunteers and we will ensure rigorous compliance with our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policy throughout the recruitment process.Terms & Conditions:12-month renewable fixed-term contract, $2,370 monthly basic salary, 1.75 working days annual leave per month, private health insurance coverage, or allowance.We are expecting the selected candidate to start on 1 June 2026.HOW TO APPLYPlease submit completed applications to [email protected] and reference “Reporting Officer” in the subject line.
