General context of the project
INTERSOS has been working in Chad since 2004 and in Cameroon since 2015, with humanitarian operations focused on protection, health and nutrition, food security, and water, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH).
In Chad, INTERSOS implements projects in the Lake and East regions for internally displaced persons and Sudanese refugees. After a hiatus in 2016, activities resumed in 2017 with a focus on protecting human rights, particularly those of children and women, through the establishment of Child Friendly Spaces, GBV case management, social cohesion, community rehabilitation, and access to safe drinking water, health, and food security.
In Cameroon, INTERSOS operates mainly in the Far North, North-West, and South-West regions. With a team of around 250 employees, the organization has a coordination office in Yaoundé and several operational bases in Bamenda, Buea, Kousseri, and Maroua. INTERSOS is recognized as a leading actor in protection monitoring and integrated humanitarian response, combining protection, food security, nutrition, WASH, cash transfers, and the distribution of essential goods (NFI).
In both countries, INTERSOS is working on the front lines to meet the needs of populations affected by crises, in partnership with national authorities, United Nations agencies, and international donors such as ECHO, UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF, UNFPA, US Department of State, FCDO, SV, AICS, and FHRAOC.
General purpose of the position
Define, coordinate, and monitor the implementation and management of strategies, policies, internal control, and overall financial administration in the Missions, in accordance with the operational context and challenges, protocols, INTERSOS standards and procedures, as well as the guidelines of the Regional Finance Coordinator, in order to provide accurate, transparent, timely, and reliable financial information to the organization and third parties on the allocation of resources in Projects.
