ONSUR delivers humanitarian assistance and sustainable development initiatives in conflict-affected regions, with a focus on transparency, community engagement, and long-term impact.Location: Hybrid (remotely & Damascus)POSITION SUMMARY:The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards. This role involves developing compliance programs, monitoring regulatory changes, conducting internal audits, and providing guidance to management and employees to mitigate compliance risks.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements. * Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards and assess their impact on the organization. * Conduct compliance risk assessments, audits, and internal reviews. * Advise management and staff on compliance-related matters and best practices. * Investigate compliance breaches or misconduct and recommend corrective actions. * Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record-keeping related to compliance activities. * Coordinate with external regulators, auditors, and legal advisors when required. * Deliver compliance training and awareness programs for employees. * Support the development of a strong ethical culture across the organization. * Prepare compliance reports for senior management and governing bodies.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS* Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). * 3–5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, or regulatory roles. * Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks. * Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Child Protection PolicyONSUR maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of child abuse and exploitation.
