Samos Volunteers (SV) is a volunteer non-governmental organisation providing informal education, psycho-social support and NFI distribution to people living in the Closed Controlled Access Center of Samos (CCAC).The Communications, Fundraising, and Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the organisation’s sustainability through developing and implementing our fundraising(50%), communications(40%), and advocacy(10%) strategy.Start date: 6th April 2026Location: Samos, GreeceMinimum commitment: 6 months minimum, full-timeApplication deadline: 13th March 2026Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:1. Communications* Manage and develop the organisation’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn), including creating and scheduling content; * Produce engaging written and visual content for digital channels, including taking photos and videos for social media use; * Update and maintain the Samos Volunteers website; * Draft and publish the quarterly newsletter; * Monitor and respond to the communications inbox, handling general enquiries and serving as a primary point of contact for the organisation.2. Fundraising* Lead and coordinate fundraising activities in collaboration with the Project Manager and other team members; * Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and supporters; * Research funding opportunities and prepare grant applications; * Design and implement fundraising campaigns; * Oversee and manage the organisation’s Donorbox account; * Supervise and support volunteers involved in fundraising and grant writing, both on-site and remotely.3. Advocacy and Campaigning* Design and deliver advocacy campaigns reflecting the realities of refugee and migrant communities on Samos; * Act as spokesperson for the organisation, liaising with media, researchers, and policymakers while amplifying community voices; * Collaborate with local, national, and European partners to develop joint advocacy materials and represent the organisation in relevant networks; * Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations and solidarity movements.4. Administrative and field coordination* Monitor and evaluate activities related to fundraising, communications, and advocacy on a monthly basis; * Provide operational support to the coordination team as required; * Cover shifts in the community centre when required, supervise and manage our spaces; * Report to and collaborate closely with the Project Manager.Key Requirements:* Minimum availability of 6 months and legal right to reside in Greece without visa sponsorship; * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and articulate complex ideas clearly and appropriately; * Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills; * Experience in developing fundraising campaigns and writing successful grant applications; * Experience managing and developing social media channels, including content creation; * Experience in designing and implementing advocacy campaigns and producing related materials; * Experience working within grassroots organisations (preferably in Greece); * Commitment to ethical storytelling, safeguarding, and responsible communications practices; * Solid understanding of the complexities of humanitarian work, including power dynamics, saviorism, and privilege; * Knowledge of the Greek asylum process; * Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently; * High level of adaptability and resilience in fast-changing environments; * Strong cultural sensitivity and experience engaging with displaced communities; * Fluency in written and spoken English.Desired:* Graphic design and/or photography skills; * Experience using Mailchimp, Squarespace, Canva, and Donorbox; * Greek, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Tigrayan, Somali, Amharic, Turkish or French is an asset.Equal Opportunities:All applications will receive equal treatment regardless of the applicant's sex, ethnic or national origin, race, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, religious or political beliefs, marital status or family circumstances. A private room in one of our shared houses is provided free of charge.Leave policy: All team members are entitled to 1 week for every 2 months of work.
